It was the same thing with Briere a few years back. It wasn't until Briere's agent said he will never come to Montreal that fans turned their attention away from keeping the rumors going. Any French Canadian player will always be a possibility for the lineup. After all, they're SUPPOSED to be Montreal's players only. Except the Leafs, who feel they have the inside track on everyone.
