The Hate that Unites Us All…

Well, we’ve dispatched the Leafs twice – and had to go to extra lengths to do so, but now comes the real acid test. A battle against our heated (read: hated) rivals, the Boston Bruins. What makes a rival anyway? How do you go about hating a team, its fans and its players SO much [...]

  • OK Habaneros - we're on! The dreaded Leafs are the target - the season kicks off for our bleu, blanc et rouge - and they face a tough test against their division rival. I'm anxious to see how Price plays tonight - and if we can get our speedy forward lines to produce right out of the gate. Let's hope our momentum doesn't fade in October - its the Brian Savage curse, I tell you. He left his Mr. October disease in Montreal... #
  • So the slapped together plan for a Centennial outdoor game has been scrapped, finally. I don't really see the need to have an outdoor game for the sake of having an outdoor game. Sure, you could argue that its for the Centennial and that's reason enough, but most Habs fans like me just want to put that 100th year to bed since it was such a disaster and just forget about it and move on. We can have the other Big O at the Big O another time. #
  • Jaro Halak - he's been quietly minding his own business as a backup for the last few years, and has come off the bench to provide some solid play - solid enough to get the fans behind him and call for starts over Carey Price. So he's got some worth - but where would he go, and what could we get for him? #
  • Seriously folks - the rumor talk surrounding Vinny Lecvalier's jump to Montreal is ridiculous. If we were in the mood to go out and get a top-10 power-forward, we wouldn't have overpaid for the services of on Scott Gomez. File this one in the 'Finished' drawer, boys. This case is closed. #

Welcome to st. patrick's poutine

If you’re looking for information, rumors and the latest news on your Montreal Canadiens, boy did you ever end up in the wrong spot. Good luck trying to find any of that. But seriously, St. Patrick’s Poutine is a blog/column written for the sole purpose of releasing frustration about the Habs current situation, revelling in their success as well as reliving the glory days and fond memories associated with the team.

There’s no real structure here. Like the title says, it’s a melting pot of Canadiens commentary, so sit down and eat it up before it goes cold.
